Hold your horses

Women have the reputation for trying to nail down a relationship status rather quickly.  Some do and are hopefully working on slowing themselves down a bit.  However rushing things isn’t a uniquely female trait.

Desperate Dans really do exist.  They tend to come on strong, appear as the perfect guy, and they’re saying all the right things.  Before you know it he’s bringing up living together, marriage, and/or kids.  At first you’re bowled over by the attention but then that little voice in the back of your head starts to clear its throat.

That little voice is right to bring up doubts.  What do you really know about this person?  He may seem like a great guy but do you have proof?  You would be right to hit pause and listen to what that little voice is saying.  What are the questions that its asking?  Maybe you should be asking those questions of your Desperate Dan.

That’s not to say that he isn’t in love with you – he may very well be.  You need to ask yourself what your long-term prospects are with him – base this on cold, hard facts, not wispy, giddy tingles.
