Organizing is a never-ending task

Organizing may sound tedious but it will give you more time for the rest of your life.  It is a never-ending task because you will periodically find new things to be organized and there will always be maintenance with any organizational system.  We’ll start with a basic system that can be used at your home or your office.

  1. Group like with like.
  2. Place items near point of use.
  3. Keep items that are used together, together.
  4. Place more frequently used items within easy reach.
  5. Use organizational aids judiciously and do not overbuy.
  6. Label, label, label.
  7. File paperwork in a timely fashion.
  8. Give everything a place and if you remove it, put it back.
  9. Divest yourself of items you don’t need.
  10. Assess your system at regular intervals.
